Prepare the ps3™ system that will send the data (the "source system"). if multiple users exist on the source ps3™ system, you must perform the following operations for all of the users before starting the data transfer operation.. Power on your ps3 system and one controller. log into the account that has the game saves. select “game” from the home screen. open “saved data utility.” highlight a game save that you want to transfer and press the triangle button on your controller. select “copy.” choose the profile that you want to transfer the save to.. Data transfer utility uses an ethernet cable between the two ps3s to move everything from one ps3 to the other. this will pave over one ps3 with the data from another ps3. there is no merging of data. saved data utility lets you use a usb thumb drive to manually copy game saves to a usb drive and to other ps3s..
Some save files are indeed locked to the user that created them and are not meant to be transferrable. modifying save files and loading them on your ps3 is actually against the terms and conditions and may get you banned.. Transferred the data onto a usb, then it said not found. so i copied something from his user, then copied the gta file into his user's folder, then the ps4 found it but says i can't copy it because it belongs to another user. why would they not let us do this? it's just a bloody save file... could do it all the time on ps3.. I have currently found out by experience that a ps3 can have the saved data on another user. i had a backup flash drive for my ps3 and i had came home one day and my user was deleted and i was wondering why it wouldn't let me load my profile on another user..
