Ofc it matters which rom you will try to port... you should try to find a rom for porting according your soc of the phone. if your phone is with mtk 6572 then try to find a rom from other phone which run on mtk 6572 soc. but before anything make a full backup of your rom with spft and mtk droid tools then continue with porting..
